If you’ve kept up with our past blog posts, you probably already know Idea Sprouts loves Pinterest. Increased website traffic, more links to our site, and tons of creative ways to showcase our work are just a few of the reasons we’re so excited about the photo-sharing social media site, and why your business should be on the site too.
For some users, though, Pinterest may appear a little intimidating. The site’s focus on images opens the door to the frustrating challenge of properly sizing your photos so they can appear as intended. Fortunately, we have a solution that will make remembering all the different photo dimensions a thing of the past.
Below, you’ll find a complete guide to image sizes on Pinterest. Be sure to keep this post bookmarked for future reference, and feel free to share the infographic with anyone you feel might need a little extra help on Pinterest.
- Use a square image for your profile picture at least 165 pixels wide and 165 pixels tall. Larger images (up to 600W x 600H) will be resized to fit this constraint.
- Uploaded pins will measure 735 pixels wide when viewed full-size, and 238 pixels wide when viewed in the feed. There are no restrictions on height.
- The cover image on your board will appear as 217 pixels wide and 147 pixels tall. Below this, you’ll have 4 thumbnails previewing the contents of your board. These thumbnails measure 51 pixels wide and 51 pixels tall.
- To pin an image from a website, the photo must be at least 100 pixels in one dimension and 200 pixels in the other (100W x 200H or 200W x 100H).
