As illustrated in the cartoon above, many businesses are in awe of the promise of a flood of new customers coming in the door once their daily deal is posted. And it really is very exciting.
As an online marketing consultant, I always advise my clients to have a plan to handle those customers and how to create more sales from those customers. Because whatever you may hear or read, a daily deal is not going to be as successful or as easy as you'd like if you don't have a plan.

For a shot at success with a daily deal, you'll need to:
- Research other business' experiences with daily deals
- Have a plan in place to handle the influx of customers
- Have some sort of analytics in place so you can actually measure whether the campaign was a success.
