Facebook Credits Gift Cards Now Available at Target

This past weekend, I discovered a new item at my local Target
store - Facebook Credits gift cards. I was so surprised that I had to snap a quick photo to share with you. Right there next to the self help books and Twilight DVDs was an entire endcap dedicated to Facebook. Wow. Facebook definitely has come a long way in a short time.
The $15 gift cards were created exclusively for Target ($25 and $50 are available as well) and can be used to purchase "virtual goods" for popular social games like Farmville and Mafia Wars. I am sure both Facebook and Target are excited to release these gift cards well ahead of the holiday shopping season. It will be interesting to see how well these gift cards sell during the holidays.
According to research from GigaOM, the average user of social gaming on Facebook is a 43 year old woman. I'm not really surprised by that information since almost all of my Facebook friends playing these games are women. But is it the women that are spending the money on Facebook credits? Will they spend more if they are given gift cards? Only time will tell.
Would you purchase a Facebook Credits gift card? Who would you purchase it for?
